"Sharing the little things"
When I became a stay at home parent, I had no idea, what kind of a control freak I would be about my kids and their routine. Us moms are the ones in charge of the "little things" clothes, meals, getting the kids ready and to school and sports on time, etc. I started working a part time job just over a year ago and for the most part, my job at Cabelas doesn't interfere too much with my REAL job. I will go in on the weekends (when there is a village ready to help out and there is no school, sports, etc.) or around 5pm so all the "little things" are done and daddy or grandparents just have to feed them dinner and get them to sleep. Well, some days (like today & this week) I have to help out my co-workers and work LONG days. I get SUPER nervous and antsy when that happens. I leave notes around the house and prepare meals and get all the "little things" ready for David so his day runs smoothly.
I feel like when these "little things" get done, nobody really notices, they just "get done". In reality, there is a person behind those things that are needed to get done in order for our lives to run. Today I am Thankful for those days when I get to share these "little things" with David. The kids can look back and say that sometimes daddy would take them to and from school, or make lunches and dinners for them or took them to the park while mommy was away. As much as I like to be the one to experience those things with them, I love that David picks right up where I left off while I am away....even if it's with the assistance of my controlling lists and pre-made meals....haha
