30 Days of Thanks: "Being a Better Person"

Nov. 9th: Day 9
"Being a Better Person"

I am Thankful for the fact that we are human. Because we are human, boy do we make mistakes...BUT we also get to be better. I feel like I am always striving to be a better person. Sometimes, you just sit back and take it upon yourself to say, "I'm gonna be that change" and sometimes it's a specific situation or issue that smacks you square in the face and humbles you. I am thankful for those moments where I stop and drop myself down a few pegs. When I realize, "Megan you are so, not perfect....let's do better".  I am Thankful that at (nearly) 30 years old, I am constantly striving to grow and be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and all around person.

Today, I am taking FULL responsibility for my dogs barking! We have been LAZY dog parents! I go through phases where I take the dogs out for walks/runs....but they don't last. We haven't trained them. It's our fault they bark like crazy when a stranger rings the doorbell, the reason they jump up and knock little kids down, the reason our neighbor flipped out and caused a ruckus because of our dogs incessant barking while we are away. This morning, Hunter and I are going for a morning jog, this afternoon I will take Remi---(I can't do both together, because we never really trained them on a leash, so they are nightmares together). Heck maybe two extra walks a/jogs a day will help me with my weight issue as well ;)  We are busting out the crate we had when we both worked and used to crate Remi. I am carrying the squirt bottle around so I can shoot 'em up with some water when they get out of line and get to work training these dogs.

Today, I am thankful that this awkward and uncomfortable, confrontation with our neighbor will help us strive to be better dog parents and hopefully help us have happier dogs :)
